I have some S. mellifera seedlings. In addition, within the last week, I've planted in pots some cuttings from wild plants. S. mellifera grows naturally in my area. I notice that the leaves of the cuttings are a deep green, while the seedlings are more of a yellow-green, and I'm wondering if I should change the growing medium (i.e., soil). I've been using a cactus potting mix. Visually, it looks similar to typical Salvia-growing soil in my area, which is largely decomposed granite, mixed (presumably) with decomposed detritus from previous generations of Salvia. Maybe the growing medium is the reason the seedlings haven't done as well as I'd hoped. Suggestions?
