Critters eating my salvia!

All my May Night salvia's seem to be munched on :(

What kinds of critters like to eat salvias?

Can I do anything to protect against this? Maybe put fencing around? I hate to do that but I need to stop the munching. This is their second year in my garden and I had no problems last year with munching critters.
