How to keep my cat from chewing my plant?

Hi all,

My cat loves to chew on my plants, especially my Sansevieria. He's never had an allergic reaction to it. The plant looks so sad all chewed up. I know he really hates the smell of citrus. Can I wipe the plant down with lime juice to deter him? Any other ideas?

how about hot sauce on sans?
try providing other greens for kitty.

Hi Laura,

Am thinking it's not a good idea, what if cat gets it in their eyes?

Pls. check out pet shops which sell a product called 'Bitter Apple' made for this particular purpose.

Don't know abt wiping the plant down w/ citrus, might be too acidic for it. How abt some strips of citrus peels on top of the mix, the plant shouldn't mind & hopefully it'll deter the cat.
