Sorry, I just think that is crewl to do that to plants, I wouldn't buy one like that. That would not go over here in So. Calif. The collectors would not buy a thing like that, only the beginners who think it's cute. Sorry I'm a snob, I like the species, and grow them like they are growing natural in Africa in situ. Norma

Norma is right, this is cruel. Booth to the sans and to the buyer. A braided plant with lots of pups around....the pups will look awful by time.

But Norma, the wild sans in Africa don't live in pots...they are free!

Personally, I don't know which I dislike more, the braiding or the bow.

But then again, I'm certainly used to seeing braided Ficus trunks & thinking nothing of it; I guess it's all abt what one's used to.

To braid this like these, you will need to lay long leaves of these in the dark and allow them to wilt a while. After this period, you would braid them and root the ends at one point.
It's just another way of man-ifesting human influence on a plant which would not normally grow in this manner.
