I see a lot of new growth in the pot. Do you think the pot can get too crowded?
I'm sure glad I put it in the East window where it gets a lot of sun. It sure is growing like mad.

Eva, they like to be crowded. However, they have been known to break pots, all kinds of pots, and plastic pots which have holes on the sides, they just crawl out of the holes, if they get to crowded and can't get out by breaking the pot, they will just lift up, showing their roots, that is okay, I just add some more soil. They look interesting that way.

That's interesting to know. This is a huge pot. There is still some room in it , but I shall be on the look-out for the pot to get too full.. Does it take them long to flower after they have been trans-planted?
Are they "tender" and "touchy'" about being trans-planted?

I like the looks of it in this huge pot with all it's bulk. I hope I won't need to trans-planted it for a long,long time.

No they are not touchy about repotting, the only thing that will kill them is watering the wrong time of year. When you transplant take out the rosette that flowered. It does you no good at all except to produce babies. If the root stock is broken it may take three years. Mine all flowered at once this past winter, I couldn't go into the greenhouse, the perfume was just too strong. I think the heater did them a lot of good, that is why they flowered, they thought they were home in Africa. I also believe that they may flower better with good light, but not enough to burn the leaves.

Thanks for the information on the warmth.I think mine flowered because I had it in the east window where it gets a lot of sun and warmth.
I haven't repotted it as it still seems to be doing ok with the pot it is in. I did cut the flower stalk off though. And now there is several new shoots in it.
What kind of soil do you think is best when I do decide to repot ?
