Okay,

after a quick web search I found the that the best way to save seeds from a horned melon was to ferment. I have saved quite a bit of seed, but have never fermented.

I seperated them from the pulp (a long but delicious process) and put the seed in a bowl with just enough water to cover them. I placed clingwrap on top and cut a hole in it. Then I put it on top of my fridge (stays about 78 degrees up their). I checked every day but nothing formed on the top. On day four about 25 of the seeds started sprouting.

I seperated those 25 and planted them (I now have a lot of horned melon plants) and immediately dropped the other hundred or so on a towel and let them dry. I am currently doing a germinating test on those to see if they are viable.

What did i do wrong?
