I recently acquired this rare Turkish Salvia, deep violet flowers with a large white blush on the lower lip. Unfortunately, my cat has decided to use it as a toilet, violent scratching has almost uprooted it. I have placed small sticks and other deterrents around the plant, but to no avail. I cannot sit outside with a hose-pipe all day as I do have a full-time job! I have a large garden, and there are lots of other areas where ablutions could be performed! Any suggestions from other cat-lovers? I do love cats!!
S. albimaculata is a gem, small, attractive, and the flowers are gorgeous! May not survive easily in damp UK winters.
Anyone else grown this?
Robin.
