Salvia scabra

I got these seeds in a trade - I think someone sent them as a bonus because I had said I like salvias. Does anyone grow this one? I am guessing it will be an annual here. Just ignore the coccinea in the background . . .

I grew it a few years ago, it is a nice sage. I remember the long flowers. Nice images, Becky.

Salvia scabra is one of the few South African sages that can handle humid subtropical climates, since it is a coastal species. Its closest American analog is Salvia lyrata.

I'm growing a ton of it right now....it germinates so readily and such a tough little plant.
