So the heat from being outside in the summer is not enough? Thanks for the tip, Helli, I will try bottom-heat.

I have no idea, I don't pay attention to that other than accept it often takes more than a year.

I would suggest that tugging at them, (even gently) can slow it down further by breaking some little root hairs which one's wanting to encourage to grow.

Tho' it takes very long, the best indicator of rooting on a plant is new growth, sorry it takes time & LOTS of patience.

BTW, on a Sans. you're not likely to get a whole new plant to start, rather a new leaf, one single leaf or 2 at a time.
