Brachycombe (? sp) Seed

I am growing Brachycombe for the first time and love it. I want to save the seeds for next year. Well, these flowers are living forever!! I notice on some of the flowers instead of having a yellow centre it is has turned brown. Does that mean it's ready? The only thing is the flower looks great still so part of me says no. Isn't the flower supposed to be dead when you collect seeds? Yes, first time I am trying to collect seeds and because I'm not sure what I am collecting it's a little frustrating. I do know of the flower dying and turning a brownish colour so I am confused by this plant. Thanks for info!
