My other salvia

I'm not really sure how to grow them from seed. I also don't know which salvia variety I received. I remember getting salvia yvonne and also harvesting red flowering salvia in Baraboo, WI. However, I didn't put a label.

I also had a very very hard time growing them from seed. The salvias below were direct sown. I planted them 1/4 inch below the ground. I planted 12 seeds but only 1 sprouted(the middle). The other 2 outer salvias were also grown from seed but in a pot. I think they germinated early July which is too late I guess. Right now, their height is between 6-8 inches only. :( I am really shock why I can't get them to sprout. I always had 99% success with zinnia, cleome, larkspur, bachelor buttons, 4 o' clocks but this salvia, I lost the battle.

I'm afraid I won't have any seeds from this red flowering salvia this year.

I was really upset because I set my mind that I will have a huge clump of red flowering salvia by the end of summer. huhuhu :(

Here are the pictures taken this morning. Look how small they are. :(
