Sorry no picture - but I just harvested some from mine yesterday. When the flower dies back, the seed forms around the flower head - not enclosed in a pod. At first they just look dry and dead. You will know when the seed is ready when the white fluff appears to start falling out. The seeds will be about 1/8" and fuzzy, kind of cone shaped. I can take a picture the next time I have any to harvest if you still need it.

How do you know when seed is ready? I have tried to save Gazania seed for years, but what I save never grows so I'm assuming I'm saving the wrong thing. When I purchase seed, nothing resembling that is in the envelope I've put the "seed" into.

Not every dying flower head will have seed, but I can send you some pictures if you like - I took some the other day.

If the flower head has gone limp, is it too late? Do I just wait until the petals lose their color? Or is the best way to just look for the white fluff? I have never saved these before. Help?!?!?!
