Gomphrena seeds

This is my first attempt at saving Gomphrena seeds and I'm a little puzzled. The flowers still look great but the petals are blowing off the flowers. Does this mean they are ready for harvesting? I've grown these before and the flowers seem to last forever so do they just not brown when ripe?
