carrot seeds

Hi all!

I overwintered 2 carrots from last years garden.....one seemed to have been somebodies lunch. so just the one flowered....

It has seeds, and I was told that 1 was enough, but been reading "seed to seed" which says carrots are outbred not inbred.

Does that mean something else pollinated my carrot? just as wild carrot/queen annes lace?

I wouldn't have thought so, which is why I just let it grow by itself.

There were m any umbels - like 15 in total. are the seeds good/pure?
