Hi ProudGM,
They form inside tubular seed pods. The pods dry, turn brown, and open at the top. The seeds are black chips. I found a good pic at the link below.

Thanks Remy. I've seen those pods. They are still green. I thought maybe they were buds. Now all I have to do is wait for them to turn brown.
