Hi msalex - It will get you seeds sooner but they won't be of the same quality. Seeds harvested too early are less viable - less likely to sprout when planted - because the seed embryo has not fully developed and becomes infected or dies when removed from the parent plant.

For the best results seeds really must be allowed to mature on the plant.
