Hiyas, ive saved seed from daylilies before- you need to wait until the pods are dark brown and preferably cracking on their own. When the pods are brown/dry, the black seeds should be finished drying. theyre kinda triangular footballs (if that makes any sense)

if you opened the pods when they were green, you might have been able to peel the outer shell off the seeds and see the cotyledons.

Seeds look like black beads or rock chips, and are hard and shiny. Be sure to collect after the pod is brown. :)
