'Skyline' flowr spike on the way up

This is a monster of a plant with fouteen leaves, they are not round but oblong, and fanned out. I don't care for the plant, and they really haven't decided what it's Latin name is yet. it is coming into flower, it has an ugly spindly flower, this is the first time it has flowered for me, which means this next summer it will break out of it's pot. It will grow quickly once it has flowered as now it's roots has filled the large 10 gal pot I have it in. I will get a picture of it and post it as soon as I get my next lesson on how. I'm just excited that it is flowering, we belive this one came from the Angola,Congo area of Africa, Norma

That sounds great, Norma. It must be a real monster if you have it in a 10 gallon pot!
I look forward to seeing a picture of it.
By the way, my Sans flowers are finally opening. I tried shaking the plant to see if they get pollinated. You mentioned that method in an earlier post, I believe.

wow! That is a big sans! I too will learn to post pics one of these days. In the meantime you just have to go to my Facebook page to see them. It's much easier to get pics on Facebook as opposed to Gardenweb.

I take my hand hold the flower stalk gently and pull up on the flowers, slowly and gently hopping the the pollin will fall down into the lower flowers as I move my hand up along the spike.Seymour Linden taught me to do this. Norma
