S. mexicana limelight

I grew this last summer and it got to be 6-8 feet tall. But it don't look like it will flower. You think it will come back next year in my zone 8? What would you suggest I do to overwinter it? Prune it and how much? just leave it alone? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks,

We take cuttings and leave it alone here in North Texas. It doesn't always survive if we have an extremely cold winter.

Mine is just now in flower. If it stays warm by you it may still bloom. I'd take cuttings for next year --- just in case.

I bought a small cutting this spring and it outgrew its pot twice. It is in a 12 x 16 pot and is potbound, but blooming profusely for 3 weeks now. It's been in part sun. I didn't have time to fertilize it but I'm amazed by its blooms. I plan to bring it in.
