Hi Connie .. yes you can grow Lantana from the little fruit seeds that form. Clean off the flesh from the berries by soaking them in warm water. Allow the seeds to dry for several days before putting them in plastic baggies otherwise they will mold. Im not sure how long the seeds remain viable. The seeds I had I received in a trade so I am not sure how old they were. Make sure you soak the seed (without the flesh) overnight in warm water prior to planting. Bottom heat with help with germination.

So I am told.

I've had the purple lantana for at least 2 to 3 years and it has never seeded.

It has a sterile flower. Most of them do. The old standby, ('Confetti' I think is it's name)has seeds. They are all easily rooted from cuttings, although many of the new hybrids are not as hardy as the old varieties.

Glad to find this topic. I looked to collect what I could from Lantana, and there was really nothing. I have the kind that have the colors from pink, orange, yellow all on one flower head. I guess I'll be bringing them inside. Someone said they have a purple? If they are easy to do from cuttings, do you think the cuttings would ship? I am interested in the purple...
