that is a field number, not a species name. Yes, John Lavranos is a person who collects Sansevieria in the wild. To keep track of all findings, it is common that the collectors use a name or abbreviation with a number. The plant gets a label, while a list is being written where which plant was collected.

He helps guides people to the location where they are located. I don't think he names the plants. But the group gives the plant a collection and location number for Identification, (documentation) other wise what they collected would be worthless. That information on my plants make them very valuable for the future. Norma

Later it will be scientiffically named. Lavranos found more plants for us than any other person in the last 50 years, he takes out groups to find them. Thank goodness for him he has done a great service to us all. The plants are identified named by the scientists. Norma
