Question about Nasties

OK...I know you are supposed to wait until the very end of the growing season. Well I see quite a few seeds forming. My question is, when can they be collected? Do they have to dry on the plant or can they be collected and then dried? Some have already fallen off and they are still in the milky green stage.

When they fall off, they're ready. They don't need to be dried up, IMHO.

Thanks Elvis...I am guessing they will continue to dry on their own.

And just what are nasties? I've never heard of them.

LOL!! Sue, they are Nasturtiums...
I have never collected seeds from them before and they don't seem to be drying on the plant. (All of the sources say to allow the seed to dry on the plant). Mine fall off before they are dry.

As soon as they are plump and the stem begins curling down you can pluck them and let them air dry.
