I am leaving my vines in place so far, and have only had very light frost. Was wondering if it matters how late I collect the seeds, I mean if they freeze and thaw a lot. Last year that happened and they were fine as far as I know, since I had fabulous germination rates this spring.

Basically you can't collect morning glory seeds until they want you to, the seed pods aren't crispy and crunchy and crumbly is what I mean. So I guess you will know if it is working or not by how the seed pods get. If they don't crumble easily in your fingers they aren't 'done.'

Yes, but if it wasn't pollinated, will the seed be viable?

Answered my own question, yes if they were meant to be they did dry nicely, but the ones that were not meant to be after drying for 3 weeks did not crumble in my fingers, but alot did. So there you go guys, I took all the unripe ones and threw them under the lane trees of our local mall, just in case I missed some ripe ones (teehee).

Sure Elvis...you can pollinate almost any flower yourself.
