Does salvia argentea reseed?

I finally managed to keep one alive for the whole summer (before this they've always rotted away) and am now wondering about the bloom and, since it is a biennial, whether it reseeds or does it have to be replanted every spring.

Having at last found a well-drained sunny spot for it, I'd like to get a few plants going on a regular basis.

Depending on where you live, Salvia argentea is actually a perennial! There is one in Denver, Colorado that is over 20 years old. In North Carolina, it will last 2 - 3 years, acting like a true monocarpic plant. Monocarpic means that the plant dies after producing a seed crop. So if you dead head a S. argentea and have it in good drained soil with some lime and humus, and are in at least USDA zone 8, you should be able to keep it for quite a while. It does not like much wetness in either summer or winter.
