We've all made mistakes......many of them worse than cooking our seeds...*S*..

Any of those seeds edible? Maybe you can make the best of it... :) Then again, you can try sowing them anyway. It would be interesting to see if some seeds could survive getting cooked.

It might be interesting to wrap a few seeds in a paper towel and keep it damp until the seeds either sprout or rot, just to see if they did survive. Microwave ovens have very uneven heating, that's why you need to stir and rotate food when you're cooking in a microwave. (That's also why microwaves can't be used for canning food -- not all of the food reaches the required temperature.) So some seeds might have been cooked and some not, and it might be fun to find out.

Bummer! I haven't cooked any seeds but I'm bad to collect seeds in the greenhouse,set the cups on the potting bench then forget about them and turn on the sprinklers ..talk about D'oh!~~~~$:>O

My philosophy is you have to try it at least once, otherwise you'll never know if it works or not right? (it's only called a discovery if it works hee hee)

I like to keep my seeds in an index card file.

This idea hit me when I got some seeds from Ferry Morse and realized the packages were perfectly 3x5 inch!

For seeds that come in larger packages, or for seed that I've collected myself, I just print my own 3x5 inch envelope and use Word to type in the info.

For foil packs I just cut corner slits into a 3x5 index card and file them away
