Small Boxwood

I live in Central Texas Zone 8. Our winters are harried with a week of warm weather in the 70s followed by a couple of days or more of freezing into the teens. After pining many years for formal, herb-filled parterres, I find much contradictory information on boxwood size. My garden is not large; therefore, I would like the smallest, tightest, hardiest box you could suggest.

It appears that "Green Gem" and "Wintergreen" might be the lowest growing . . . maybe. To the best of your knowledge, what could be height expectations in 10 years with normal clipping of these box? Do you have a better suggestion for me?
