Sweet Woodruff Dying

I have sweet woodruff planted on either side of a short brick walkway that divides two large garden beds. It is planted inbetween the bricks and large stones that prevent it from spreading into the beds. It was transplanted here from my old house 3 years ago and has been thriving. However, in the past couple of weeks, one side is dying back on while the other side is still thriving. They both get the same amount of light, filtered through large pine trees. They've been getting plenty of water as it's been raining here nearly every day all spring. The inside plants on the stone side turned brown and all the leaves fell off. The outside ones still look good, but I'm afraid they will all die.

Any suggestions as to what may be causing this and any suggested remedies? Thanks.
