Gardening in Shade

shade plants for small area by the house

Looking to do a Shade Garden next to my house. The area is about 72 sp ft (12' X 6'). I need suggestions for plant that would grow well in the shade and in a small area. I would also like no plants over 4' tall. Here are some plants that I like but I do not know their mature size.

Hostas, Lungwort - mrs. moon, Irises, Azalea, florist's cyclamen, angelwing, begonia, coralberry/ spice berry, busy lizzie, Lantana "malan's Gold", the australian Violet, Virginia Bluebells, bugleweed carpet, and lilly-of-the-valley.

Hostas come in all sizes from mini to giant, there are lots of pictures on the Hosta Forum if you search the posts there.

I already have hostas in the picture and need flowering plants.

What I am thinking of putting in are: Astilbe, Helleborus orientalis, Hepatica acutiloba, Bleeding heart, Aster, Azalea, Narcissus 'Magnet', and Impatiens walleriana 'Scarlet 74 F 20' though the space.

the space is only 12' X 6'. Any suggestions?

Too many plants?
How many of each plant should I use 1, 2, or 3?
