aloe problem

i have a large blue/grey aloe plant 3 feet high and 3 feet wide with multiple "pups". i think it is an aloe striata. the entire plant is turning yellow, all in the past week.we are located in the mohave valley area in bullhead city az. for the last week temperatures have risen to the 110-155 deg f. i don't know whether to blame this on the sun and heat or on overwatering. i suspect overwatering because other similar plants in the area have not exhibited this condition and i have increased watering to compensate for the temperature increase. any advice will be appreciated. thanks to all.

Sounds like over watering. Aloes will fade in color and then look and feel like a mushy grey/yellow mass incased in the hard leaf cuticle. Not anything you can do with these leaves but new healthy ones will grow. Succulents store water in their leaves and will slow down their metabolism when conditions are not good.

I agree it is probably a situation of the plant having received too much water. I think it would be good to remove the mushy stuff before it rots.
