I have a nerium oleander growing here in abq on the side of my house. It's doing great. Although like most oleanders in albuquerque, it'll get frost-bitten/brown leaves that need to be removed in spring.

I have Canary Island Date palms, pygmy date palms, washingtonia robustas, and a sago palm... all doin good, but they havent had to survive winter yet... ill try to keep em indoors and alive

I have some very small strap leaved sabals(birmingham, tamalipas etc)
The largest in my collection would be my two 6ft filiferas, one 6ft windmill and the 4ft by 4ft european

Have plenty of seeds if any locals are interested as well.

You have quite an impressive collection! You must have an enormous yard for all those plants. What kind of cold protection do you use during the winter?

My yard is on a corner lot and I also like the lush jungle effect of having 'too many plants'.
I have used several diff types of protection over the years: bubble wrap(bad), burlap, burying them in leaves,covering w/ sheets.
This past winter was cold enough to do some real damage, but I still didn't lose anything really. Burlap for the filferas when they are small seems to really help. For larger than 15gallon sized plants---just leave em alone.
Only the eucalyputus cinerea gets burnt, the rest do just fine. I learned u must cover bananas they will not come back w/o it.

I'd love some seeds! I'm dying to try some tropicals and palms and exotics. I'm in the far south valley up on mesa, so it's pretty hot and sunny. My neighbor has two smallish palms and they're lookin' pretty good. Let me know if you have seeds to spare or to buy. thanks, Moonsinger
