Orange: Marigold
Yellow: Snapdragons
Green: Coleus
Blue: Evolvulus ( I found a blue, creeping variety- annual )
Purple: Salvia, Petunia,

For green in my own garden one year, I used a Zinnia--I think it was 'Green Envy'.

I've seen that zinnia in catalogs, it looks like the best green flower choice for us.

Teddy Bear Sunflowers grown in pots might do for the "pot of gold". They stay real small in pots, the more you cram in the smaller they are. These are mine from 2001, child is 4. Hmm, but they won't bloom until September.

rainbow colors are as follows: red,orange,yellow,green,blue and last but surely not least purple.you could probably most easily find these colors in annuals maybe perennials but dont hold your breathe.sincerely,mshgtvangel@aol.com ps dont use lupines they are lovely but poisonous.
