I would go with the Medium Vermiculite for your vegetable garden, the perlite will serve to keep your roots moist which is better for your flowers. The purpose of the vermiculite is to provide aeration to facilitate proper draining.

I used medium vermiculite last year, and it did great. That would be my choice...
