KentuckyRose -- Gorgeous roses, amazing!

Lovely, Kentucky! Do you have a separate fridge just for roses? I've heard if you don't they'll spot from gases given off by foods.

Cool beans! Love them. Did you put them in each day for a while then put them back out for a while or just leave in fridge the whole time? They look so pretty. Judy

Thanks, everyone! The roses share a refrig in the garage with extra milk, soft drinks, etc. When I cut the roses, I hardened them off in very dilute bleach water, then put them in a cup full of water. Mini's take so little room. I covered them with a plastic bag from Kroger's that's in the fruit/veggie section and kept them in the refrig the whole time. I recut the stems under water again when I put them in a vase with some Chryalis. Too much detail? But late summer I discoverd that the plastic fruit/veggie bags make a big difference in retaining the freshness of the rose.

Well that's cool! So you do this to make them last longer when you bring them out to display?

Judy, yes...it seems that the grocery store fruit/veggie bags are better than the plastic grocery bags for holding in the moisture when I cover and refrigerate the roses. The roses just have a "fresher" look.
