Any idea what it costs to ship though?

I emailed them, and to get four 4 cu. ft. bags shipped to me in Michigan, it would cost $43 in shipping. That's a lot, but considering that the store I bought from last year charged $25 per bag, I'd still come out ahead ordering it and paying for shipping.

With shipping, the price for 20 bags is $19.65 a piece. Considering I can't find any vermiculite in my area, I guess this is a good price.

Walmart has perlite for $2.78 8.8 liters. I'm not sure what makes up 4 cubic ft. but if it were 8 bags, the price would be $22.24 plus tax. So if any mathmeticians know how many liters go into a cubic ft. please let us know.

I just bought a 4 cubic foot bag here in WV for 19.99 at a local garden/hardware store. It was the best price we could find in the area after calling several places.

If you're taking a trip to Virginia, Seven Springs Farm (30 minutes from Roanoke) also sells Vermiculite. I just ordered 5 bags via e-mail, and I'm hoping to pick it up on Friday to avoid the shipping cost. It's a 2.5 hour drive for me, but it's worth it. It's $13 for one bag, $12.50 for 5. They do ship, and you might be in the cheaper shipping area. Maybe worth checking out?

So to get 4 cubic ft of perlite, you'd have to pay $35.78. :)

For the past few days Ive been online searching for the best price in the indy area for course vermiculite. Previously Ive been buying from lowes a 1.5 cu.ft for $13.97 which I think to be a little high. So in checking around I find tiffanys has a 4cu bag for $21.90. Menards also has the insulation type for 3cu bag for $12.90. But any mail order co. may have a cheaper price but want to charge you $30 shipping which seems excessive, either way Im not paying that. So I say call around at nurseries and garden centers in your area for this stuff , you will save.
