Ventilation vs. humidity

In a large terrarium, (in the 4' high range) how do you provide adequate ventilation without compromising the humidity level?

If it has a full front door that gets opened every day (say, to feed dart frogs) and a couple of screened holes near the top, will that be enough air exchange for plants like orchids? If fans are added, won't that just whisk away the humidity?
