I don't think you'd need any other hardware, other than a hygrometer if you're like me and want to be absolutely certain that the humidity is high enough. Oh yeah, and that screen lid is useless at keeping the humidity in, so get a glass or plexi top for your tank. This will also help keep some of the heat from the lights out of the tank, which could otherwise heat up quite a bit. I would use compacts no matter what you grow. They put out way more light, and the more light plants get the better they grow, so why waste time with NO's? Plants will also grow more compactly with higher light, which is something you definitely want in a terrarium. Would you be interested in keeping any animals in the terrarium? If so, you need to research and decide what kind, and then design the terrarium around them. Oh yeah, and you won't need the aquarium heaters. And if you want a false bottom (highly recommended), you'll need some 2" PVC pipe, eggcrate, and aquarium silicone, preferably black. As for plants, there are lots, so do a search on this forum for 'plants' or 'miniature plants'.
