The best way to root it is to dip the cut ends in a rooting gel/powder and seal it in a plastic bag on top of some moist (not sopping wet) sphagnum moss. Open the bag every other day to exchange air, and give it filtered light, like from a few flourescents. Works with a lot of epiphytes. If you have a terrarium already with good humidity you might be able to mount it where you want it and just keep it misted.This is what works for me. Good luck.
