I planted a chinese wisteria tree in my front yard and just yesterday dug it up to place weed barrier and a decorative border around it. Recently while looking for a vine someone told me to be careful their roots can take over ...well when I dug mine up the roots were twice the size of the lil vine and twice as thick....all of that to say....my advise is to check out American wisteria.

Chinese Wisteria is super invasive. I think there are two native wisterias.
