I made several 4' x 8' x 12" beds and planted 3 yr old asparagus crowns. I was told the spears would start to pop up in 3 wks. They did, but most are very thin. Is this how they usually start? Anyone with experience on this? I was told I would be able to harvest for 4 weeks out of 8 this year. That's why I bought (The EXPENSIVE) 3 yr old crowns!
