I have never used it and don't know anything about it except for what I just read on their website. Try digging into a mound of it a few days after a good rain. From the description, it sounds like it may be pretty water-retentive. It all depends on the relative amounts and specifics of the ingredients. Also be aware that the bark fines are going to rot, causing settling, possibly affecting nitrogen levels for a period of time, and changing drainage characteristics over time. But, like I said, these are just ideas, not anything based on experience with this particular product.
