Ornithogalum thyrsoides 'Damascus' is a patented plant (PP21448) and therefore cannot be legally asexually propagated (including bulbs, cuttings, etc). If someone had seeds, they could give those away, but (as you may already know) the seeds would not produce the same plant.

This plant is not all that common, and I doubt you'll find it locally (although there's some possibility that one of the big box type stores might have it). If you are desperate enough for it, contact Bay City Flower Company in Half Moon Bay, CA (650-726-5535) and ask them to direct you to a retailer for this particular plant.

I thought as much. Dang. :-\ My friend saw it at Krogers this week & wants me to grow some. lol...wanted to get them for her. I Googled it & saw the Bay City page. May very well buy some from them, as they do have them for sale on there. $8.95 for 12 bulbs I believe. I know I saw them for sale...think it was that site, but could have been another, possibly.

I've also seen these at my Kroger, already blooming in the floral area. I assumed they weren't hardy here, like the luscious azaleas and hydrangeas they routinely tempt me with.

I think they might survive outside through the winter if given really good drainage and maybe a little bit of a microclimate (near a brick wall, in a rock garden, etc). Most sources give the species a hardiness rating of 7b or 8a. Around here, drainage would be more of an issue than temperature.
