Wow, that's a healthy looking worm. Except for the color it looks like a cut worm, which I don't believe it is. In other words I have no clue. But you can place in alcohol, and send it to your state ag center for identification and recommended treatment. Most caterpillar can be controlled when tiny, with BT. Try using organic soap or neem oil as a deterrent. Once a caterpillar reaches that size there is little you can do to control them without resorting to an insecticide, which is a no no on fruit plants, or by hand picking.

It's only about 3/4 of an inch. But I don't recognise it, either.
