Zucchini Formation

I posted this in the Vegetable Gardening forum as well, so I apologize if you are reading this twice....

I have a very healthy zucchini plant that has, thus far, produced a good amount of fully formed fruits. However, due to what I perceive as a pollination issue, I have 3 or 4 semi formed zucchinis - they are starting to shrivel and I am wondering whether they should be removed so that energy is diverted back to the formation of new fruit. Or, should I just let them sit and decompose? Will this adversely affect the plant? Thanks for your insight!
