I grow more than 500 different cultivars in zone 6b just east and uphill from Knoxville.
What I'd recommend depends on your zone, your soil and what you want your roses to be: cutting roses, fragrant roses, no spray roses?

I've had success with a few Roses in the past. We've moved to a new house and I need to get started on some more. I had a beautiful golden climbing rose that I cannot remember the name of....it seemed to be disease and pest free in my area (Chattanooga nearby). My sister has Joseph's Coat and it does wonderfully for her. I live on the side of a Mountain....lots of clay...so lots of soil amendment needed.
Limited area that receives enough sunlight. I only want to start with about 3 Roses......thanks

For a limited sunlight location, you need to look into the groups of roses called Hybrid Musks. They become big, fragrant, no spray wonders and they can handle half day sunlight better than any other rose out there.
Appalachian Rose in Tellico Plains is a good source in state. Out of state, look at Ashdown and Roses Unlimited in South Carolina.
For the yellow color, Danae is a white that grade to lightest lemon yellow. For yellow verging on gold, a rose called Buff Beauty lives up to its name.
There are no bad Hybrid Musks and they do well in our area.
