hello from east ridge, house built in '41, tons of stuff here when i got here. no kids, 2 dogs, 6 cats. seems like the last owners planted at least half dozen of everything!think sometimes i bit off more than i can chew , but hubby is helping! good luck to both of us! 7 in one weekend?!!i do have 7 buddeleia coming in, trying to build hummer or butterfly garden up.53,000 sq.ft of yard and pitiful peach trees too. but that's another forum.

Hi tearose...ever get over onto Germantown?.. that is where I am. The front yard is my playground, the back is devoted to the Great Danes and the kids ( both whom make it hard to garden!) It sounds like you have taken on a wonderful task, this place is a 1920's baby but nobody did more than mow the grass for years since it was a rental that did not get much love.

There is so much to do here that I am afraid that the yard has gotten sort shift for a while but I decided that this year I really wanted to start building at least the bones of my dream garden. I really invision a front yard with no grass.. just walking path and lots of flower gardens. Now this is easier said thandone.. but I am trying.

Tearose, just noticed your bit about roses in your bio.. I would be interested in talking to you about what you have and what growes well for you around here. I have quite a few micro-climates in my yard so this makes from some diverse gardening...but I do love my roses. On my front fence I have a Blaze ( climber, red) and Pasionate kisses ( shrub, pink).. on the back fence I have Pinaita ( muliti-pink and orange, climber).
