Try googling "plant name" + propagation.

Some things are supposedly easier than others. For example, I just learned that willow has a sort of natural rooting hormone, so they are supposed to be super-easy (but tell that to the Nishiki cuttings I took yesterday that are all wilty and pitiful...)

I found the last copy I bought on Amazon.com. Mike sells it on his site, Freeplants.com, for a bunch of money and it comes with a great deal of other stuff. I would love to have all that stuff but I can't afford the $300 right now. The origainl book was so helpful to me that I eventually started my own business propagating and selling Clematis, perennials and herbs. I plan to do it again in a couple of years when I retire from my present job.

Don't worry about the nishiki cuttings. I clip a bunch when they get too long for my liking and stick them in the shade in a 5 gal bucket of water and they root like crazy in a few weeks. I just change the water out every week or so and that's it!

Don't throw that willow water out!!! That natural rooting hormone will help other things root better too!

In fact, putting a few willow cuttings in with other things can be good way to root things that are typically hard to root. Here's the GW FAQ on that.
