Are you sure that's what you have? Several insects look like them, including beneficials.

And would help to know what the creatures are doing to your plants.

Here's a bunch of pictures. It's a tough job trying to
take pictures of those little critters.

I have all the symptoms of them though. Rings around the
plant stems and major blossom drop.

I believe this first one is a nymph.

Think this one is an adult.

Unfortunately, to ID true bugs, we need to see the wings of the adult -- a top side view.

Information is from 2007 and I hoped to find something more
current.

Have you tried planting Marigolds around your tomatoes? This usually helps, as most insects dislike the pungent aroma of these flowers. They will help drastically keep your pest level down. However, they don't seem to do much for grasshoppers, which is my main problem!
