Please ID these red critters

My early morning garden stroll revealed these small red critters eating leaves off my Marglobe and a LaRoma. What are they? How big a threat are they? How do I get rid of them?

I looked at your picture more carefully and am wondering if CPB is correct. I am going to do a bit more research as I am wondering if there is something similar. The easiest way to know is if you see any adults. Farkee

Yes, they are Colorado Potato Beetles. I have previously seen the adults around, but did not worry as they did not seem to be eating anything.

Does anyone know if BT will work on them? I have some designed for Hornworm (my salsa garden nemesis), and am hoping that might help.
