We use to have about an acre in berries when I was younger. After ten years of them I'm vaugely familiar. First of all, they should have been planted the end of of Feb. or the first of March. It's pretty late to set them now because you'll need to water them a lot. Always pinch the berries or flowers off of strawberries the first year. Set the plants about three feet apart and the runners will fill them out by next summer. They usually produce fruit about now through the first week or two of June.
