I haven't seen any slugs on the fruit or plants, however.

Peter, if you go out at night with a flashlight I think you will see them.

I don't have any good ideas re slugs but if you go to Google and enter slugs and tomatoes I'm sure you'll find some suggestions unless someone else here comes along and has a good way to get rid of them.

I had this last year and saw the tiny slugs on the top of the plants--middle of the day, they didn't care what time it was. I tried dusting with cayenne and everything else anyone suggested last year and nothing worked. This year I've surrounded the stems with crushed eggshells--you can use any kind of grit/DE/oyster shells that will slice the snails' underbellies as they crawl in to do their evil deeds. Also Sluggo helps to some degree. I also killed a couple thousand snails (not exaggerating) by going out first thing in the morning and in the evening and killing them by hand, every day 2 hours a day. So far my only real pest is a rat out there so I feel pretty good. So far!
